One Year

Words cannot express what an amazing year our family has had!  So many blessings have come from our baby girl!  We cannot imagine life without her or before her and are so excited what the Lord has in store for Caroline's life!

As we end this year long blog dedicated to Caroline, here are some highlights of this month AND this year:

Caroline can now make a kitty cat, dog and bear sound!  Some of her favorite things are splashing in the tub with her ducks, brushing her teeth, being outside, swinging and standing (with help of course)!

Caroline has started to really pick up on her sign language.  We are so proud of her!

Caroline is starting to get interested in feeding herself with a spoon... a bit messy but at least she is trying!  She loves drinking out of her big girl cup too!

Caroline, we love you so much.  The Lord has given us the greatest gift in you!  You bring us so much joy and you have taught us so much about ourselves and about life!  We are so incredibly lucky to have you as our daughter and are excited about our journey in life with you!  We love you!

Our mouths were filled with laughter,
our tongues with songs of joy.
Then it was said among the nations,
“The LORD has done great things for them.” -Psalm 126:2

11 Months Old and a Booty Scoot

What a fun and busy month!  We are pretty sure Caroline grew at least 2 inches this month!  She is a growing machine!  Loving all of her new table foods.  Yogurt and avocado are still her favorite!

Caroline has officially started to booty-scoot alllll over the place!  She is so cautious so she doesn't seem to be a fan of actual crawling but she gets around just fine on her bottom!  It's pretty funny to watch too...

This month Caroline got 3 more teeth... making her more confident about eating finger foods! She's becoming an expert at feeding herself too!

This month we enjoyed playdates, park and zoo visits (we even got to see a real life Sophie Giraffe baby!), library story time and a fun Labor Day weekend at the lake with both sides of the family!

Some of Caroline's favorite things are imitating Briley's bark, watching Briley and laughing at her, "fake" laughing and sneezing, swinging, watching kids play, interacting with older children, reading books, her baby doll and of course being outside!

Caroline is getting so smart.  She seems to understand most of what we say to her and she responds when we ask her where her ball and other toys are.  She can also point out your toes and eyes!

One more month until and entire year old!  Time has flown by but it has been so special!  Now it's time to prepare for a big 1st Birthday celebration!!!!

10 Months and a Mamadadagaga

10 Months Old!  Double Digits!  2 more months to ONE YEAR!  We can't believe it!

Caroline has been a pretty busy girl this month!  We enjoyed one more trip to the beach this month... until next year when she will be running all over that beach!

We've been pretty busy with play dates ... playing with all of our neighborhood friends, old friends, new friends and family!

Caroline is starting to really snuggle her momma and daddy... which they just LOVE!  It's so sweet!  She continues to love her books... could probably flip through the same one all day long!  And momma and daddy could probably cite 10 of them on demand if needed!  She also recently discovered her baby doll and she loves playing and reading to her! She also likes to flirt with herself in the mirror and laugh hysterically!

One day Caroline decided to start "talking" up a storm and hasn't stopped since.  Her favorite things to say are "Dada", "Mama", "Gaga", and "Baba".  Maybe she is telling us a story about the entire family going to a Lady Gaga Concert?!  Whatever she is saying, its pretty adorable and entertaining! Caroline also loves to play peek-a-boo and stand up holding on to the coffee table!

Caroline continues to eat really well... breakfast, lunch and dinner and LOVES her yogurt!  Still trying to get a hang of picking up those finger foods!

What a month!  Excited about the cooler weather that will hopefully come soon!!  We love to be outside and I have a feeling we will want to be outside all the time once it gets cooler!!

Just so I have a record of it, I wanted to write out Caroline's nicknames her momma has given to her... they have "happened" in this sequence, randomly since her birth:  pickle, sweet pickle, pick, pumpkin, punk, monkey, monk, monkey moo, moo, boo, boozie, moozie! (and of course Care Bear and Woozie)

We love you Moozie!  Life wouldn't be as rich without you!

Nine Months Old and Having Fun in the Sun!

Caroline is 9 months old!  We had such a big month! Here are some highlights:

Caroline spent two weeks away from home and her own crib and did fantastic!  We took a long weekend to the lake and visited with some friends including Caroline's buddy Drew!  Then we left for Augusta for a fun week with Grampa and Lala and then it was back to the lake for the Coleman's Summer Vacation.  Caroline loves being outside especially near water.  She loves watching boats, splashing in her baby pool and watching her cousins swim around!

Caroline's first two bottom teeth have come in!  She is such a good baby that we had no idea until we saw a pearly white poking thru in her sweet smile!

She is starting to dance to music and singing!  She loves to stand (with some help!) and bop her legs up and down... so cute!

Caroline is also starting to use her hands more and more.  She is fascinated with the waving motion and likes to wave and is now starting to even clap!

Caroline still hasn't perfected crawling... she is actually scooting backwards.  We are convinced she will just skip crawling all together and go straight to pulling up and walking!

So many people have told us what a sweet and happy baby we have and we just can't disagree!  She is the sweetest and best baby and we are so delighted to have her in our life!

We look forward to enjoying the rest of the summer with family and friends!

8 Months and a Cousin!

What an eventful month we have had!  This month Caroline's cousin, Alice was born!  We are very excited about all the wonderful adventures they have ahead of them together!  How special!

This month Caroline also took her first big trip to the beach in Isle of Palms, SC with the BFHI clan!  She absolutely LOVED the beach!  At first she was a bit skeptical but eventually loved sitting in the sand and splashing in the water.  She may have even eaten a little bit of sand too...:)

Caroline's new "trick" is spinning her toys.  She even tries to spin anything she can put her hands on!  She loves sitting up and watching mommy blow bubbles!

Caroline took her first trip to the park this month and loves the swing!  She could probably swing all day long if she could!

Caroline is starting to reach out to people which is so sweet.  Makes her momma's heart melt!

What makes Caroline the most excited and happiest is looking at and touching flowers and water bottles!  It's too cute!!

Caroline's hair is still slowly growing in but no bow yet!!  We think she may end up having pretty blond hair!

She continues to enjoy her solids eating a nice breakfast and dinner everyday!  And she loves her water... she is even starting to drink out of a cup!

Caroline continues to bring so much joy and meaning to our lives!  She is such a happy baby and we couldn't be any more blessed with such a special little girl!

Sitting Pretty at 7 Months!

What a great month this has been!  Caroline has learned so much this month and has experienced some fun and new things!  Here are some highlights:

- At her 6th month appointment she still was 10th% in weight but 50th% in height!  We've got a long 'n lean baby!

- She can now sit up in her stroller so we are using our jogging stroller in full force now!  We've even done some some actual jogging!

-Caroline is learning to sit all by herself!  She's doing such a great job and I can imagine she loves seeing the world without having to lay down all the time!

- We have started solid foods!  After Caroline got a hang of her rice cereal, we have since tried Oatmeal, bananas, avocados, pears, sweet potatoes and prunes! She loves to sit in her hichair and eat eat away!

- Caroline is rolling all over the place these days!  I will find her in her crib almost on her tummy and on the other side!  She loves to roll over to see whats going on in the other room ... very curious little girl!

-Caroline loves to be tickled and giggle ... we love hearing her squeal!

-She loves to gab gab gab and being with people...  I think we have a talker and socializer (like her daddy!) on our hands!

-Caroline is fascinated by tags on all of her toys!  She studies them intensely!

-She still LOVES being outside... she loves looking at and touching all of the pretty spring flowers and going on walks and swinging on our front porch while we wait for daddy to come home!  A part of our night routine is actually sitting on the back deck watching Briley play!

-Caroline is grabbing and holding her toys and blocks very well and even stands up holding on to the coffee table!  She also enjoys taking baby sips of our water!

-We are starting to enjoy our jumper and exersaucer... finally growing into them!

-We celebrated a very special Mother's Day this month!  Very low key with lots of family play and snuggle time!

- Caroline got Baptized by her Grampa this month!  It was a very special day with family honoring little Caroline Jo Coleman!

What a fun SPRING month we had!  Nature and Caroline are just blooming!!!!!  Next month we have a few big trips ahead of us... including our first trip to the beach!  Hopefully Caroline will love the beach as much as her momma and daddy do!!  Also, her first cousin (on her momma's side) will be here soon!  We can't wait!

5 Months and a Nap Later

Well folks, it's been FIVE months!  Time has flown by but at the same time it seems like Caroline has been in our life forever.  This month Caroline has really blossomed into a "little girl"!!  What I mean is that she isn't just a baby anymore... she has PERSONALITY!  She has the sweetest personality and LOVES to greet us with constant smiles, sometimes frowns and plenty of sweet sounds!

Here are some highlights from this month:

- Caroline continues to roll over from tummy to back and is trying to go from back to tummy - she likes to throw her legs up in the air and to the side to make a full circle on her play mat
- She had her 4 month appointment where she weighed in at a WHOPPING 11 pounds (10th Percentile) and 24 inches long (50th Percentile).  We have a long and lean baby for sure!
- Caroline has definitely hit her "pre-teething" phase!  She LOVES to chew on anything and everything, especially momma's fingers and tags on her toys
- She has created what the doctor calls a "social cough" ... when she wants our attention and is being playful she does this cough/grin combo... it's too funny!  She also likes to scream/grin too ... likes to hear her little BIG voice
- Caroline's favorite songs are "Old McDonald", "Twinkle Twinkle" and "Amazing Grace"
- Her most favorite thing is to sit in her bouncer in the evenings and watch her momma cook!  We dance and sing together while waiting on daddy to come home!
- Caroline has started to eat some rice cereal thanks to the docs suggestion to hopefully beef up those scrawny cute arms - she's doing great and love's it!
- Caroline loves it when her daddy plays Superbaby with her!  She can't stop giggling!
- She likes to sit in her bumpo and play with blocks, sit in her boppy, and play on her play mat.  We still love to go on walks together everyday with her best friend Briley!
- Caroline is starting to become a "lap baby"!  It's so much fun... she likes to sit in our laps during dinner time and play with our napkins and spoons ...getting ready for next month's hichair test!
- Both sets of grandparents came to visit us this month!  We had so much fun with them and made great memories!
- Big Good News for the parents is that Caroline all of a sudden began to sleep through the night (8pm-7am) AND go down for naps all by herself and for more than 30 minutes at a time!  One day it just "clicked" and we are all happier people because of it!:)
- With the good sleeping habits, Caroline has learned to soothe herself... she has become a THUMB SUCKER!  I know it's not the best thing for her at least once she gets older BUT it's too adorable!

What a big month of growing and fun!  Next month we move into our new home where we will make so many wonderful memories as a family!  We can't wait!  We are so in love with our baby girl... she continues to bring us so much joy each and every day!

Four Months but really One Year

Yes, it has been FOUR MONTHS!  We totally cannot believe it!  The time has gone by sooo fast!  Actually ONE YEAR ago around this time we found out that little Caroline would be coming into our lives! It was truly one of the most special moments we have ever experienced when we realized we had a little baby growing inside of my belly!  And now she is FOUR MONTHS old!

This past month Caroline has grown so much.  Here are some highlights:

-Her most favorite thing to do is to stand while holding her hands... she LOVES this and won't let you put her down!  She is so little but so strong!!
-She continues to love playing with her hands and is getting better at grasping and holding onto things like her rattle and play rings
-Caroline continues to absolutely LOVE her mobile and she enjoys winding down to some mobile play time before going down for a nap
-Her naps are slowly but surely getting longer and more defined ... she is also starting to sleep longer at night which we really appreciate!  And of course she needs that sleep to process all that she is starting to learn!
-She is starting to look around more and more and become more aware of her surroundings... she LOVES to look at Briley... I think "Briley" or something similar to the name is going to be her first word!
-Caroline's neck and head are getting so strong... she loves sitting propped up on her boppy while watching mommy dance and sing to her and cook in the evenings
-She continues to talk more and more and she is realizing how loud she really can be!  Sometimes I think it even takes her by surprise!
-She loves her Mr. Gibbers toy (named by Caroline herself!) and wakes up in the mornings gabbing at him
-Caroline is starting to roll onto her sides and from tummy and back
-She had her first laugh on February 1st... still waiting for that uncontrollable giggle!
