One Year Old!

What a wonderful and fast year this has been!  Lily has been such a blessing and the perfect addition to our little family.  We have had a fun time with this sweet little girl and can't wait to see what lies ahead for her and our family!

Here are some highlights from this month:

- Lily is really starting to understand more and more of what we are saying.  She also "talks" and even says a few words like "mama" "dada" "lala" and "all done".
-Lily loves jumping like a frog on command and making the sounds of a dog, cat and chicken!
-She loves to dance especially to her favorite song, "Old McDonald"
-Lily is starting to LOVE books ... she will flip through every one on the shelf in a matter of minutes
-Lily loves her wagon rides and being pushed on the big girl tricycle!
-She still loves trying to keep up with big sister, doing everything she does, and gets around everywhere with a fast scoot or a quick cruise!

Lily, thank you so much for bringing so much joy, love and gentleness to our family.  You bring us so much happiness and we are so lucky to call you our little girl and sister.  We look forward to seeing what God has in store for you and your beautiful life ahead!  We love you, Lillian Allen Coleman!

11 Months Old, One step at a time

Lily is 11 months old.  This month Lily took her very first step!  Still no full-force walking on her own but she loves to cruise and pull up and even climb stairs!! She really enjoys walking while holding on to someone's hands and loves pushing her push car.

Lily has many favorites but her most favorite thing right now is probably dogs.  Whenever she sees one she reaches for him and says "dog".  She jumps up and down and gets so very excited... very cute thing to see!

Lily is still a wonderful eater and pretty much eats what we have for dinner every night. Makes it easy for everyone!

We had a big month of playdates, zoo and park visits and a very fun labor day weekend with family and the lake.

Lily is one of the cutest babies and we can't go anywhere without anyone making a comment about how adorable she is.  But not only is she the cutest baby ever, she is the most snuggly!  She loves to cuddle and be held and that makes this momma very happy!:)

Next month Lily turns a year- time please slow down.  What a fun year this has been and we look forward to celebrating you, sweet girl, next month!!

-We took our annual trip to Grammas and Grandad's lakehouse and had a blast with all of our cousins. Lily even swam in the lake for the first time!

-Lily has learned to "wave" and loves to flirt with people she doesn't know from afar with her "wave"
-Lily has started to dance to music.  Her sister Caroline especially likes this
-She loves baby dolls... she gets so excited when she sees one of them and carries it around the entire house
-Lily's crawl has turned into a scoot crawl and she can go very fast!  This month she has really started to pull up more and more and has even stood by herself for a few seconds... such a brave girl! She enjoys pushing her push toys around the den too.  She is constantly on the move (as you can see in the photo above, not the best since she is always moving!)
-Lily loves her books ... her current favorites are Lullaby Moon and Pat The Bunny... she anticipates the next page and gets so excited! She loves studying the pictures and gets especially excited at the sight of a kitty or dog
-Lily is the most cuddly baby!  She loves to be held and nuzzle up to your face.  But be careful because she might try to bite your nose!  Yes, we are working on that one.
-Caroline and Lily's sister bond is growing stronger and stronger.  They enjoy one another so much and love to play and giggle and cuddle together!  So wonderful to watch!

We love you Lily and couldn't have pictured our family any other way ... your presence has enriched us so much...  2 more months until One Years Old!  Time PLEASE slow down!!

9 Months and Crawling!

Lily has had an eventful 9th month!  Here are some highlights:

- Lily is officially crawling!  She is crawling everywhere and anywhere and loving the freedom to discover!  That means we are learning how to baby proof our house and yard too!  Lily does a cute crawl-scoot with one leg out... our girls prefer a fancy crawling style I guess!
-Lily got her two bottom teeth in this month!  On top of having a sinus infection, she didn't feel very good for awhile but was a good sport through it all and has two cute teeth to show for it
-Lily is starting to notice her dog Briley more and more.   Always looking for her when we say "dog" and mention her name.  She is very interested in her soft fur and her silly sounds!
-Lily started to clap, wave and dance to music this month!  She is becoming a little entertainer!  She even enjoys waking up from her naps clapping and dancing with herself and her bunny
-Lily still likes to put every thing in her mouth including any type of food.  A great eater she is! She also started to drink out of her cup and loves the her water!
-Lily is VERY loud.  She wakes us up every morning with her little yells and loud songs.  She doesn't let her self go unnoticed among the toddler craziness in the house!
-She had a great first 4th of July with her cousins Alice and Eleanor!

What a growing month for Lily girl!  As a lot of people say you are a precious "Pixie" baby and so much fun to have around!  Thanks for making us laugh, smile and dance!:)  We love you "Lils"!

8th Months - It's Summertime!

Lily had a great big month!  Here are some highlights:

-Lily is officially a mover - I could barley get a good photo for this blog post!  One day we even found her under the couch... we better start baby proofing now!:) She can pretty much move her body around into any position but is still learning to move those hands to crawl.  Crawling is just around the corner for her and I'm not sure we are ready!
-Lily has had many play dates this month.  We are very fortunate to have a lot of little siblings of Caroline's pals come tag along on play dates now!
-Lily has officially dropped a nap and is now down to two.  This makes our day a lot more flexible and Lily loves being awake and active during our morning outings
-Lily is eating breakfast and dinner and sometimes yogurt for lunch now. She LOVES to eat and is very good a picking up her food!
-Our family took a trip to Isle of Palms beach for Lily's very first visit to the beach!  She LOVED the sand and the water.  She may have even loved the sand a bit too much... wanting to eat every bit of it!  Lily also visited Grandma and Granddad's lake for first time.  She swam in a pool and liked it but definitely preferred mommy holding her while she splishspalshed
-Lily is officially famous for her "Chewbacca"/"Bird" noise.  Her throaty sound has evolved into a very specific Lily sound.  It's very entertaining and we've even captured it on camera to show her one day!
-The end of this month Lily stated to make the "baba" and "mama" sounds.  So that means her official "first word" is "Mama", which makes this mama a very proud one!  :)

Lily continues to be a very happy, content and easy going baby.  She adores her big sister and even let's her know when she frustrates her.  Lily is growing up so fast but is still our little peanut baby doll.  We love you Lily and look forward to many more adventures ahead this summer!

7 months and Springtime!

What a wonderful month we have had!  Lily is just a blooming flower:). Our beautiful baby girl is growing and changing everyday!

Lily has had a big month!  Here are some highlights:

-Lily is starting to reach out to us with her arms... It's the sweetest feeling!
-She is starting to talk more and more and likes to say bababa and make silly throat sounds
-Lily is rolling all over the place these days!  She definitely prefers her tummy and likes to sleep on her tummy too.  We think she is starting to practice crawling .. Not sure if we are ready for that!!
-She had a great report at her 6 month checkup!  She is about 20th percentile in weight and 50th in height... Probably will be long and lean just like her big sister!
-Lilys hair continues to fall out with new lighter hair coming in.  She also has a new fairly long curl on the top of her head... Pretty cute!  So curious to see what her hair will end up looking like!
-She continues to enjoy playing outside, swinging at home and the park and going on walks with Caroline and playing in the grass watching the big girls in the neighborhood run around!!  She gets so excited she jumps up and down! Lily will be out there running with them this time next year... Hard to believe!
-Speaking of grass.. Lily loves to eat it too!  Actually, there isn't much Lily doesn't like to eat or put in her mouth!
-Lily is a good eater... Always has been!  But she loves table food already!  She could do without the pureed baby food... She prefers the real stuff!  Lily is already eating mumums, puffs, chunks of avocado, banana, pears and sweet potatoes and even a ritz cracker (by accident!) :)
-We have got a very curious girl on our hands that doesn't want to miss any of the action... She will let you know if she wants to be in the louder room and will even roll over and turn her head completely around to see what's going on!
-Caroline and Lily continue to develop a precious friendship.  Caroline is such a sweet big sister taking care of her and making sure she always has a toy to play with, and a blanket to cover her.  She even reads to her and "helps" change Lily's diaper.  Their favorite thing right now is when Caroline blows on Lily's tummy ... They giggle and giggle!  It's the most precious sight!!
-Lily's favorite toys right now are her exersaucer, johnny jumper, nesting cups, books and anything she can bang on the floor or put in her mouth.  She is also becoming very fond of her stuffed animals and loves to cuddle them.
-Last but not least Lily was baptized at our church.  It was a lovely service and a lot of our family was able to be with Lily on this special day!

What a special month with our cuddly little baby girl!  Lily thank you for bringing so much fun and laughter to our family! We thank God for you everyday ... you are our gift!  Next month we head to the South Carolina for your first beach experience!  Should be so much fun!

6 Months Old

We cannot believe Lily is already 6 months old!  This 1/2 year has flown by way too fast!  Lily is still such a sweet, "zen" baby and so much fun to have around!  Here are some highlights from her past month:

-Lily is officially sitting up by herself!  She has shown so much interest in doing it all by herself that we just let her get it a try and she got it pretty fast.  Big sister Caroline loves that she can sit a they laugh and "play" together on the floor.
-Lily's favorite thing/person is still Big sister Caroline.  Caroline likes to sing and dance for Lily and Lily just giggles and giggles.  Lily also enjoys Caroline greeting her first thing after her naps!
-Another thing the sisters are enjoying together is eating breakfast next to one another!  Lily is officially in the highchair and eating her yummy rice cereal every morning with Big Sister.  We just started this but Lily is showing a lot of interest!
-Lily is a big "grabber".... you have to be careful what your have in your hand when you are near her or she might just grab it from you!  The other day she grabbed my sandwich out of my hand and put it in her mouth!  I think Lily will do very well with solids next month!
-Lily is starting to become more and more vocal.  Currently she likes to make a throaty gurgling sound which makes us all laugh!
-Lily actually is showing a bit of personality lately in that she gets frustrated when she can't get to a toy or grab a toy just right.  It's special to see this little personality forming!
-Lily loves outside and she loves riding in the stroller now with big sister sitting upright and looking at the world around her
-Lily is still the strongest baby on earth... she loves to stand up (with our help of course) and LOVES tummy time!  She has even started to roll from back to tummy especially when she is trying to go to sleep... we may have a tummy sleeper on our hands!
-Finally, Lily had a great first Easter, attending many Easter egg hunts, playing with cousins and eating at yummy potlucks!

We love you Sweet Lily!  Thank you for being YOU!  You are so dear to our hearts and you make us smile so much everyday!

5 Months and Growing Strong

Lily had a great month!  We celebrated our first Valentines day with a trip to Lala and Papa's house.  Lily isn't the biggest fan of the car but she loved the visit!:)  Lily is becoming more and more of a little person and showing her true personality   She is very vocal when she needs something but very chill and sweet otherwise!

Here are some highlights from this month:
-At her 4 month appointment Lily was 50th percentile for height and 15th percentile for weight.  The doctor also commented that she was one of the strongest 4 month olds she had ever seen! Go Super Lily!:)
-Lily is continuing to enjoy tummy time.  She will stay on her tummy for almost all of her wake time. We love that because she is building some great muscles for those crawling days to come!
-This past month Lily learned to "self soothe" for naps.  She now takes 3 good naps and one cat nap in the late afternoon all by herself.  We still use the ergo when we are on the go and of course she loves that!
-Lily is continuing to sleep 7-7 most days!  Such a great little sleeper!
-She is a big roller.  One day I found her turned completely the opposite way in her crib!
-Lily loves to sleep on her side with her hands on each side of her face.  It's the sweetest thing to see!!
-Drool and chewing on things is constant so we might have some teeth fairly soon
-Lily loves her bumpo and exersaucer.  They keep her busy when we are cooking, playing and eating dinner!
-Lily is very ticklish, especially underneath her arms... she just laughs and smiles when you kiss her sides!:)
-Lily enjoys Caroline singing to her and reading books at nap time
-She is really discovering her voice and greets everyone with screeches of joy ... sometimes she even surprises herself!
-Lily has learned to "blow bubbles" and it makes her big sister laugh so much!

Lily is such a precious sweet soul.  Becoming more and more of a little person in our family, she is such a joy to be around!  We love you so much Lily! Looking forward to what your next "trick" may be while at the same time savoring you as a sweet precious little baby!!!!

Four Months and a Giggle

Lily has really blossomed into a personality this month!  She is such a sweet, laid back baby that tells you when she really needs something!:)  She loves to smile and watch her big sister every second! It was about this time last year that we found out we were blessed with another miracle... Lily had started to grow in her mommy's belly!  A true gift from God! My oh my how time goes!

Here are some highlights from Lily's 4th month:

-Lily loves her hands! Hardly ever a moment you don't catch her with her hands in her mouth or grabbing a toy.
-Lily had her first giggle this month!  She is still working on the big laugh but loves to open her mouth really wide and smile.
-Lily is starting to grab everything!  Mommy's hair, necklaces, clothing, Caroline!
-Her wake time is increasing and we love being able to play with her more and more!
-Lily loves to be awake outside unless we are going on a walk.  She is still working on getting used to the carseat in general and especially the carseat stroller rides!:)
-She loves to read books with mommy and big sister... and tries to grab the book and reads aloud along with us:)
-Lily still rolls from tummy to back... still waiting on that big back to tummy roll... any day now!
-She is still a great night sleeper! Maybe wakes up once early morning but goes right to sleep at night.
-Napping is still ergo/crib but next month we will be trying some self soothing so we will have longer crib time!  Pray for us!!  I'm sure she will do great and be a happier baby for it but mommy will have some adjusting to do!
-Lily loves to hold on to her ball and throw it and catch it with her feet... it's quite the sight to see!  She also love to be propped up on her boppy while playing.
-Lily enjoys hearing her mommy and sister sing (even though it may be scary to others:) )... her favorites are "You are my Sunshine", "Jesus Loves Me" and of course her sister's favorite "Twinkle Twinkle".
-She wants to sit up so much. She tries so hard and falls over but she is quite determined!
-She loves rolling to her side
-Her new best friend is her Sophie toy... she loves to grab and chew on her!
-She really is starting to talk more and loves to be social and have long conversations on her changing table!

Next month will be a biggie... starting rice cereal and trying out some new toys like the bumpo and exersaucer!  Lily you are such a great example of love, beauty and gentleness.  You amaze us more and more each day and teach us so much about life and love! Our hearts have grown bigger and our world has been changed for the best!

11 Weeks:
-LOVES looking in the mirror!
-Starting to have longer periods of wake time
-Starting to enjoy our walks a little more -- a little less crying and more looking around and napping
-Lily has discovered her hands!  She loves to suck on them, look at them and play with them!
-Still enjoying tummy time and standing

12 Weeks:
-Loves to sit propped up and observe what's going on and holding her rattle and play rings
